A Sad Story

——Lunch time at one restaurant

(13 February, 2003)

Maybe the activities took their time longer, or they were over excited or on the verge of hunger? It seems that all factors were contained.

Their thinking flies boundlessly and couldn't connect with what they saw. Their instinct appeared arrogant at the moment.

They stretched their hands with chopsticks, but picked up a heavy tragedy.

In the dinning room, the waitress had already laid trays of food on the tables when all children were about to sit down. Good smell of dishes was so lured that everyone began help themselves automatically. Meanwhile, several waitresses showed up some dozens of fried birds on the green vegetable leaf in the trays, which immediately absorbed attention of these young guests. Before everybody could understand what had happened, it was too late for coach Chen to tell children not to touch the unfortunates, for a tray of birds were wiped out in a minute and the same happened on the neighboring table, too.

Their dreams suddenly awakened, their flying thinking was dragged into a profound self-criticism.

They pioneered for bird watching after all, and should be pioneers for bird protection, too. They must never let their instinct lose control.
