APPEAL OF THE CHILDREN

(By all the campers of Winter Camping, Lashihai, Lijiang , Yunnan , P.R.China)

•  It is our duty to protect the environment from now on, from the stand-points of ourselves and from the trifle things around us. We will collect rubbishes every week in the streets, no spitting, no disposals, use environment protecting products, such as cloth-bags instead of plastic ones, or bamboo basket, etc. We will be active to spread the knowledge as to environment protection, and prevent any actions, which will be harmful to environment.

•  No harm to birds, try to protect their habitats. No chemicals to the crops, which will be harmful to birds, provide harmonious habitats for them. Do not frighten birds by the time you watch them, and no disruption to their lives. All the children and visitors are not allowed to pick up birds' eggs and protect their roosts. No firecrackers in the wetland of plateau, so as not to scare the birds. During the holidays, the sound of firecrackers can be recorded instead. To protect those birds, such as wood peckers which is beneficial to the environment, just in order to prevent trees from dying because of the pest, and keep the ever-lasting greens of the environment. At the same time, the fishermen will be taught not to catch the sea birds, and to protect those birds of large quantities. No purchase, kill and eating of birds.

•  To save our pocket money for the tree seeds, we will plant more trees to protect the environment. The farmers will be taught not to cut trees down and bring home stubs, which they will be used as the products of art. No cutting and scratching on the trees, no wiring to trees for hanging the clothes to dry. All this will shorten the life of the trees. No fire and smoking stubs in the forests.

•  To save each drop of water. The farmers should be told not to pollute water source in the surrounding areas by the time of chemicals spraying. No detergents to wash clothes in Lashihai, which is a famous nature reserve in Lijiang. To set free fish be caught, and not to put the toxins in the sea by the time of halieutics, just in case fish not to poisoned. Not to throw the empty poisonous DDT bottles everywhere and no catching of small fish by the seaside.

•  To strengthen the means to protect environment, and eliminate those enterprises, which cause pollutions. To make laws perfect just in order to prevent cutting trees at random, and the local inhabitants should move out of the nature reserves to guarantee the better protection of those places. The farmers should be encouraged to use natural fertilizers instead of chemicals.

•  No disposal of chemical bags, plastic membranes, food bags, used batteries, discarded fishing net, the dead poultry and the discarded medical items.

•  The campers from urban areas should be taught to save food on table.
