The event was held in Fuming County in Kunming Municipality, covering
27 through 28 January 2008. Participants are representatives of school
faculties and teachers representing respectively fourteen project pilot
primary schools in Fumin, Songming and Yulong Counties. The event also
invited village and university student volunteers representing Farmer's
Biogas Schools in six counties in Yunnan Province.  

Participatory Approach (PA) was introduced in the event, which covered
19 lessons in 8 chapters. Before closure of the event, 1600 volumes of
the school packs were donated to these rural teachers by the sponsor
from Hong Kong Oxfam.

The aim of the event is to take an initiative on developing jointly with
school faculties on school packs in rural areas, exploring possibility
of PA in school teaching and the methodology of action, so that partici-
pants can play properly the role in promoting renewable energy, waste
recycling, energy saving in rural areas. The initiative has got a strong
support of Yunnan Provincial Communist Youth League. Mr. Liang Bin, Chief
of the University & Young Pioneer Dept. attended two ceremonies of the
event by issuing training certificates to trainees and the boards inscribed
with “Farmer’s Biogas School” to villager and volunteer representatives.
