清洁鸟儿的家 Clean up Birds' Home

清晨，观鸟的大车出发了。拉市海的天空乌云低沉，从海面上扑面而来的寒风带着几分湿润和泥土的气息，使沉闷的车厢里顿时为之振奋了起来。大车沿着村边高低起伏的路面，穿过绿色的田野向着目的地缓慢驶去。车上同学们的欢声笑语渐渐驱走了逼人的寒气，车外天上的云朵开始向着天边移去，最后融入到远处山坡上的白雪堆里。温暖的阳光开始洒向田野、湿地和与之相连的海面上。

Morning, 13 February, （ Thursday ）

In the morning, the bus started to move out of village. The bumpy path extended and slowly disappeared in the vast green fields. Looking out of the bus window, the dark clouds gradually floated away and melt into white snow on the top of mountains around. Though the frigid wind mingled with smell of earth and lake water blew on the faces of pupils, they were excited to see that the sunlight began shine over the farmland, wetland and the lake.

据随行的导游介绍，每年的这个季节是观鸟的最佳时机。丽江拉市海高原湿地自然保护区的彭工说，从每年的 9 月底至来年的 4 月末，拉市海都要吸引大约 5-6 万名游人来观鸟。在这个季节里，拉市海开始休渔。

One guide told pupils that it was the best season for bird watching in Lashihai wetlands. According to Engineer Peng, There are 50,000-60,000 tourists arrived at the wetland to watch birds every year. “It's a right time for the close of fishing on lake, too. ”He added.

拉市海周边散布着 10 个自然村，居住着 600 户人家，其中有半数以上的村民靠打鱼为生。主要农作物有玉米、麦子和土豆，经济作物有油菜、辣椒和山药。当同学们接队穿过农田走进宽阔的湿地时，那无数个用废弃塑料袋、破旧衣裳做成的稻草人在田间的微风中摇摇晃晃，仿佛在向远方到来的同学们倾诉着它们与鸟的故事。

There are 10 natural villages scattered around the lake with 600 households, more than half of them fishing in the lake. Corn, wheat, potato are their major crops. Some grow rape, green chilly and Chinese yam. As pupil team walked through a vast stretch of farmland, here and there stood large numbers of scarecrows made of wasted plastic bags, worn-out jackets waving in the morning breeze, seems as if they were reciting stories between them and their bird neighbors.

导游在枯黄倒伏的草地上用望远镜教同学们怎样识别鸟儿。同学们开始认真地观看，并不时地爬在草地上做记录。湿地与海边的沼泽上灰鹤与赤麻鸭悠然自得地觅食，间或从远处又飞来几只白鹭，染得鸟群灰白相间，煞是夺目。

The guide began to explain to pupil knowledge about birds while they were watching through the telescopes. Some pupils took notes kneeing on the whither yellow water grass. A flock of birds were seeking food leisurely by the wetland and lake. They were spotted as Common Cranes, Goosanders. Meanwhile, several egrets flied from somewhere and landed to join the flock, white feather of the birds caught eyes from afar.

有的同学在草地上不时地拣到鸟羽，有的拨开草丛发现下面有色彩艳丽的蜘蛛，蚂蚁和小虫子；有的开始发现与湿地极不和协的烟头和啤酒瓶等垃圾物。突然，一个同学叫了起来，原来他在脚下的草丛中发现了一个破碎了的蛋壳，一些同学围了上去，猜测着这只破壳而出的小鸟的去向，有的说它可能这会儿正跟着鸟妈妈在前面的鸟群中觅食，有的不同意这种说法，认为他可能被人掳走，总之，大家伙儿这时都在为这只不知名的小鸟儿的命运担忧。不知是哪位同学提出“咱们拣拣垃圾吧？！”声音刚落，这一号召立即得到了其他同学们的响应。大家分头在草地的四周拼命地搜寻垃圾，有的只顾埋头拣垃圾踩到了稀泥竟没反应。

Occasionally, some pieces of lost bird feather on the grass and one or two colorful spiders, ants and unknown insects underneath the yellow grass were found. Besides, cigarette ends and empty beer bottles were another types of “finds” at the spot by young pupils. In the moment, one pupil yelled out for he searched out a crashed eggshell by grass. Attracted by the great discovery, some pupils said that the young baby might be given birth not longtime ago, and was now following its bird mother among the flock of birds in the front. Other pupils argued that someone might catch it. Nevertheless, the fate of the bird was unknown.. “Let's do away the rubbish!” some one said. The suggestion got immediate response. Everybody began to look for “suspects” carefully, no one even noticing that their sleeves and bottom of trousers legs had adhered with mud.

直到老师通知收队时同学们才停下了手。看着彼此的衣袖和裤脚沾满了稀泥，大家都不约而同会心地笑了起来，那稚嫩的声音里绽放着胜利的喜悦。毕竟，他们为清洁鸟儿的家尽了一点薄力，而且，他们还决定带走那小堆小堆的“战利品”，放到当天下午举行的“小学生研讨会” （见《小学 生 研 讨会》） 上让众人来声讨呢。

It was not until their coach asked did they stopped their action for rubbish. Looking from each other their muddy faces and hands, everyone smiled knowingly. They believed that they had done their bit for the clean up of the home of birds.
